And you get the feeling that's the tip of the iceberg. What's going unreported in the rest of the country?

Maybe not much. Death and murder gets reported. Successful wedding parties, soccer matches between Shias and Sunnis, boring days in front of the shop don't make the news. I would doubt the average day for an Iraqi is worse (or even close to) what you see on the news.
