The entire issue is so convoluted none of it makes much sense. The only truth that I can see is the escalating cost of the Iraq invasion, and what the next 'big thing' like Iran and/or that area in general will bring. (to that cost) Remember what supposedly caused the Soviet Union to crumble? As a tie in, a little disaster history > The RMS Titanic design used some of the most advanced technology available at the time, and the ship was advertized to be unsinkable. Passengers were reluctant to leave the Titanic, which showed no outward signs of being in imminent danger, that they didn't even want to get on the lifeboats, at first.
