Anthony, I think that Avid Cinema is MJPEG based, not MPEG. But I could be wrong on this. Further, I believe that all Avid editing products can output MPEG even if their internal editing model is something different. Editing MPEG is hard. Editors based upon MPEG are still research projects, as far as I know. For current information, check out avid.com They keep the site fairly up to date.
