<< think there is a potential difference here between an individual versus a fund manager. I think to make it longer term you have to be able and willing to completely reinvent your investing strategy as conditions change.

Bad move. Why not assume they're smarter than you? Isn't that equivalent to "reinvent your investing strategy"?>>

I think I am sacrificing clarity for the sake of brevity here. I mean a willingness to change sectors or class of investments etc. such as switching from tech stocks to oil and gas or commodities as conditions change. I doubt they are smarter than me although they probably have more and better information available to them than I do.

Everyone is a trader you have made that point very clear here. When you say fund manager do you mean hedge fund or mutual fund or both or is there a difference?

<<If you're not waiting in terror, you're still a beginner.>>

Finally a non-disparaging remark. I'm blushing.

<<Well it has been a publically traded company although it also started out very small. I was not an insider but studied hard,

I should refer this comment to Grace for a laugh.>>

Huh?

<<If oil rises, oil comes on stream faster than sand becomes economical.>>

Sand is economical now. If oil rises it will stay economical until oil falls.

<<If oil drops, sand is sand.>>

Sure. Anyway, the sand stocks have gone up quite a bit, and there seems to be a potential few months of more hype available to them. Maybe a top would be when the SEC rules for reserves as applies to sand changes? I'll be on the lookout then...and until then as well of course.

When you say you run money...do you mean you are a hedge fund manager?
