We are all guessing about the fallout here - the anti-DPW crowd was accused of overreacting, now I come down on the side that the "foreign investment will come to a halt" crowd is going off the deep end a bit here.

I would guess that the other Dubai firm's work with the US Navy has the kind of security firewall that the dunces in Washington should have included in the DPW deal up front. Today I was musing how I would have drafted the PR announcing the DPW deal with all the possible objections considered and addressed in the first headline about the issue in the US press.

This was incredibly badly handled, due to arrogance, IMHO.

If the Arabs lose their taste for investing in the US, I don't see how that will affect the Canadians, Brits, Dutch, Japanese and many others with hundreds of billions of our dollars to repatriate.

Let's revisit this in 6-12 months and see if we have any real data to support our different views.
