If you think that article proves I'm duped, you've got a cognitive problem. Allow me to quote from the article as follows (quite out of context, yet scarcely disputed in context).
""These al Qaeda affiliates, based in Baghdad, now coordinate the movement of people, money and supplies into and throughout Iraq for his network, and they've been operating freely in the capital for more than eight months," said U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell in his presentation last month to the U.N. Security Council.
During testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in mid-February, CIA Director George Tenet added, "Iraq has, in the past, provided training in document forgery and bomb-making to al Qaeda. It has also provided training in poisons and gases to two al Qaeda associates."
These assertions, however, might be as good as the case gets for U.S. officials linking the terror network to Iraq."
Huh...so the writer accepts the above Powell and Tenent comments as true enough. Seems pretty good to me.
And in the writer's words:
"...there is evidence Iraqi officials might have helped al Qaeda years ago..."
Well, I'll be darned, and would you know that evidence STILL stands years after your writer wrote?
Alas, you say I've been duped, and while the article writer doesn't seem to corroborate you, I guess Saddam does:
"If we had a relationship with al Qaeda and if we believed in this relationship, we wouldn't be ashamed to admit it," Saddam said in a recent interview on British television. "The answer is no. We do not have any relationship with al Qaeda."
Yup, there's iron clad proof from a guy who's own son was planning to soon knock dad off his pedestal. What DID Saddam know about the support his country provided to Al Qaeda? WHHHOOOOO knows, eh?
Of course, in my view to hell with Al Qaeda, no less than Putin tells us that AFTER 911 Iraq was planning attacks on American territory. But, I'm sure you are sure he's a liar for Bush telling unvetted made-up information. Swell, but have you a link for that?
Of course, it is not to my knowledge disputed that among the "non-smoking gun" evidence we have for a direct Iraq to 911 connection, is the fellow from Saddams Fedayeen who escorted two 911 hijackers to a motel where they met two other 911 hijackers. Odd that this Fedayeen fellow, when arrested over a year later in Qatar, possessed information about the '93 WTC bombing and the '95 plane blow-up plot, isn't it?
Of course, who could forget the huge mural of planes hitting the WTC found in Baghdad? Why, it almost leads sane individuals to imagine that there were forces inside Iraq which very much supported Al Qaeda. Who'd a thunk it?
Did Saddam cooperate with Bin Laden and did Bin Laden court Iraq? How about this report from '99: "Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers."
cnn.com
Amazing that the above can be found on CNN, eh? What does a guy like you do with reporting like that? You pretend it doesn't exist, that's what, while you write in your own words that it cannot be, and the enemy of one's enemy could never become friends, ahhh..not in this case per you. LOL.
Do you realize how unrealistic your writings and opinions truly are?
Bin Laden said "it is our job to incite and instigate, by the grace of god we did that." Oh, he said this days after he met with Iraqi officials. Listen: radioamerica.org
One could go on...
