Kevin, You are comparing apples to oranges. Alcoholism is an addiction, and not a mere habit. The alcohol has taken control of an alcoholic's every thought. If that person follows the proper steps to defeat that addiction, he is in a better position to ward off any kind of relapse, and can handle any other obsession that comes along. Those that fail, have not followed the correct course for complete sobriety.
What Bush exhibits is belief in himself, and has the balls to forge ahead with what seems right to him. In politics, such a stance can be rattled by the secrecy, dealing, and out right collusion, that goes on behind his back. Then, people like you, and other democrat/socialists jump on his ass instead of the ones that are guilty. Bush is man enough to stand he ground in the face of adversity that is not of his doing, but some people cannot admire that kind of bravery because they have none themselves. |
