I dunno, you may be burning out after posting a gazillion messages.


Here are the only two sentences quoted from the Intel exec in the article related to pricing:

"We can cut prices or bring out better products. We prefer the second option,"

Well, no kidding better products are preferable than price cuts. Without NGA products coming out later this year the only way Intel could prevent losing more marketshare is with abnormally large or unusually frequent price cuts, especially with AMD revamping their product line this year.

It's already known that Intel plans to offer two speed grades for the price of one next month.

And sure, the Conroe prices might end up being in the same $240-$530 price range as Pentium D is now (with the exception of the current $600+ Pentium D 950), but it will be far more than a typical speed grade improvement and it will come with other benefits such as less power usage, heat, noise, etc.
