John Kerry's Support for Israel First & the Reign of Terror on Palestine

By Genevieve Cora Fraser

Al-Jazeerah, March 10, 2006

Dear John,

I am ethnically part Jewish as you are and a graduate (MFA) of Brandeis. My remarks are not intended to be anti-Semitic but factual.

Israel is NOT a Constitutional Democracy. It has no constitution but rather Basic Laws far worse than the Jim Crow Laws in America ever were. Basic human rights are granted to Jewish Nationals but The Others in Israel are granted citizenship but few to no rights. Instead they are ethnically cleansed at will based on the racist 1948/50 Absentee Property Laws and 1965 Planning Laws.... and there are many more illegal "laws" such as those that govern marriage between Jews and Others of different ethnicities (races) and religions.

Presently the acting prime minister has declared Palestine an Axis of Evil and the Defense Minister has vowed to implement a Reign of Terror on the Palestinian people for voting their conscience by selecting Hamas. Yet, you continue to support Israel First.

Under international law all people have a Right to Resist especially those who exist under a brutal occupation which daily starves, imprisons, kills and maims the population. Under international law, Palestinians also have the Right to Return. Hamas claims what is due under law - not as terrorists. Israel bases its legality under the UN Resolution 181 - yet has violated all its terms since its birth. Hamas has a right and responsibility to point this out as the democratically elected representatives of the Palestinian people.

In America the constitution calls for the separation of church and state, yet you support the de-facto Theocracy called Israel in its armed aggression against a predominantly defenseless people whose lands they covert. Israel has instituted a slow process of genocide and your vote to punish the Palestinian people contributes to their attempted genocide.

Below is a recent report which describes Israel for what it is - a Terrorist State of nearly unlimited capacity to create non-stop horror - which you have supported by voting billions of our tax dollars to fund Israel, based on its non-stop Reign of Terror, is by definition a fascist state.

John,

If you don't wish to take my word, you and Terry should check into a hotel in any Palestinian city, such as Nablus. Walk the streets, talk to the people (many speak the language of their oppressor - English). Be sure to visit City Hall and the Court and jail which lies in rubble from Israeli airstrikes, tanks and sniper attacks. Visit Bethlehem, but take your flack jackets and water bottles in case you are trapped for days and weeks on end as they barricade the city. Stop by a few refugee camps in Gaza and Rafah and Ramallah. But you may need security guards when the Israeli storm troopers arrive with their remote controlled attack dogs and burst into homes with machine guns drawn and ready to use on any man, women or child who breathes (which is also considered to be resistance).

And by all means visit the Israeli Settlers who were waiting for their financial support for weapons, ammunition and sniper lessons. The GOP Lobbyist Abramoff is tied up in court so he can't fund them currently. Perhaps you and Hillary could get Congress to vote millions in direct aid to the settlers whose job is to kill, terrorize and steal from Palestinians on behalf of Mother Israel. Perhaps direct aid could also be found for cement to finalize construction of the illegal, Apartheid Wall instead of having the billions filter through corrupt Israeli government hands.

I realize you get your news on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from AIPAC - so here's a bit of insight direct from Palestine:

Hamas response to Israeli death threat: "This is Israeli state terrorism" IMEMC & Agencies - Wednesday, 08 March 2006, 16:06

A spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said on Tuesday that Israel's threat to assassinate Palestinian prime minister-designate Ismail Haniya was a form of state terrorism. The Hamas spokesman made the remarks shortly after Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said that Israel's policy of extra-judicial assassination has proven effective and would continue (despite the fact that three children were killed in an 'assassination by missile' on Monday). Mofaz said that if Hamas were to renew its attacks on Israel, Hamas leaders, including Haniya, would not be immune from such extra-judicial assassination.

"Mofaz' statement represents a clear and formal policy of state terrorism," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told reporters in Gaza. Vowing commitment to Palestinians people's rights and interests, Abu Zuhri said that Hamas would not be deterred by Israeli threats.

The policy of extrajudicial executions by Israel of suspected Palestinian militants, has been declared a "war crime" by Israeli human rights group B'tselem.

The Hamas party, currently the majority party in the Palestinian Parliament, and charged with forming a new government by the end of this month, has been called a 'terrorist group' by Israel and the US due to 60 attacks against Israel since 2000. The Hamas party has held up its end of a ceasefire since last February when the truce was declared. Human rights groups and the United Nations have documented hundreds of violations of the ceasefire by Israeli forces.

In the past two years, two Hamas leaders, Shaikh Ahmed Yassin and Abdulaziz al-Rantissi, were killed in Israeli targeted airstrikes. While Israel has said that the policy is effective, debacles like Monday's attack on a crowd of pedestrians in which three children were killed and dozens injured, have called that into question. Indeed, extrajudicial assassinations in any form, including by dropping missiles into crowded streets as is Israel's habit, are illegal according to international law. Such assassinations violate the Geneva Convention and the International Convention on Human Rights, to which Israel is a signatory.

Senator,

Palestine is not the issue. Israel is. Isn't it time the US demanded that Israeli leaders sat down to examine and eradicate their racist laws which are in direct violation of international law. Isn't it time that Israel adopted a constitution which mandates equal treatment for all its citizens regardless of race and creed? If Israel were to do such a thing, the so-called conflict would end, because the conflict is unilateral too. Israel is the aggressor. Palestine is the victim.

When you ran for president, I walked 4-5 hours per day for 6 months on your behalf collecting contributions and promoting your cause. Though I have been a chair of a Democratic Town Committee and worked as an aide for five years for a prominent Democratic state senator, I have recently left the Democratic party because it is as Zionized as the Republicans with their Israeli-biased NeoCon agenda.

But before you dismiss me and my feeble protest, remember this, I am the one who would organize parades throughout the region and stand on street corners in the rain and snow and wind for the last 20 years with signs promoting you for Senator and President. When you were Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, you and I organized and stood up for the environment and created Acid Rain Awareness events and worked to get legislation passed. Much of what you have done in your tenure in office I have supported, but not this - I can no longer make excuses for your behavior in support of the Iraq War but most of all, in support of Israel First over and above the American Constitution which you have sworn to uphold.

Together with Hillary and Al and John Edwards who will be speaking at the AIPAC Convention shortly, your support of racist, apartheid Israel and all its evil ways has driven me out of the party - and I am not alone. Thirty percent of our foreign aid is used to support Israel's domination and control over the region and increasingly in partnership with America, world domination and control.

Look at where it has got us - War without end, Amen. Israel First puts America Last and has bankrupted us financially, intellectually, morally, and spiritually.

Sincerely,

Genevieve
