The smearvets were 100% liars who disgraced their country. It was the same type smear campaign that libveled McCain in 2000. The smear campaign was not run by vets but by notorious Rove-Bush political operators. It was funded by longtime Bush-Delay corporate donors. It was indirectly run by Rove. 98% of the so-called "vets" never even met Kerry though they claimed they served with him. The 2% who did know Kerry contradicted their own past statements, contradicted Navy records, contradicted everyone on Kerry's own boat and libeled and fabricated freely. Likely they were all paid off to lie. The smearvet leader O'Neill was a well-known Charles Colson protege. Colson was in charge of Nixon's dirty tricks. O'Neill started off his smear campaign with two big fat lies, that he had served with Kerry (never did, never met him in Nam) and that he was not part of the GOP or Bush campaign. He went on to lie about a lot more, and was well paid for his lying. His partner Corsi is a well-known extreme racist and bigot who hates anyone to the left of the KKK.
