"I hope the world survives long enough for Islam to see the light."

I call that a dumb statement on many levels. Islam and Christianity are ideas of beliefs and have no eyes to see.

Islam has ideas that unless rejected require faithful action against all non Muslims. The Koran is the spoken word of God for those who believe in Islam. I don't know how any mere mortal can reject the clear meanings presented as the spoken word of God.
To reject the Koran is the spoken word of God is a heresy that those who believe must punish with death if it is in their power. Or they don't really believe the spoken words of God in the Koran.

Christianity has ideas that unless modified or adapted means turning the other cheek always. The bible is not presented as the spoken word of God. My particular belief is that the words in the bible give the Pope the legitimate authority to define what God defines as moral. Others have a different interpretation of who has authority to interpret God's words or the meaning of the words presented in the bible. In fact what words are really in the bible are argued among Christians.

But the idea that the Koran is the spoken word of God is catholic idea in Islam.
