Timing is everything. Clinton had the advantage of being in office coming out of a recession and going into the y2k.

It was the longest economic expansion since WW II. It will be remembered in the history books as a golden period in US history where even the poorest people benefited from the expansion and where welfare rolls were at their lowest and where technology showed its great promise.

But you still won't give Clinton the credit he so richly deserves. Partisanship is an ugly thing.
