I was just listening to some Dylan today and went off surfing and came up with this. rollingstone.com I've just finished a biography of Dylan. It gives some insight into some of his songs. On the Rainy Day Woman (must get stoned) song, everybody got so stoned that they just improvised a ton of stuff. None of them had done the song. Dylan had stayed up about 32 hours writing it while the session musicians cooled their heels. After the song, everybody thought it was a rehersal--but it was kept just the way it was...
