sandintoes, Laz really had no choice--allergy or not. His other options were death or ending up as a veggie. Given those two near-certain outcomes, I would encourage anyone to accept the t-PA (and its brethren drugs) if they find themselves in Laz's medical situation. Additionally, it is doubtful that an allergic reaction to the drug could have been anticipated. t-PA is not given routinely; rather, it is given in only very narrow, clearly defined circumstances, such as were Laz's at the time it was given to him. I know that I have never before heard of such allergic reaction occurring in any other patient.- Holly
