I bet we would end up with the parties pushing their primaries back to right before the election so that they could get the most mileage out of private funding.

Again, questions that need to be considered. But not questions that are dealbreakers. So long as the aim of flushing corruption out of the system was uppermost and not severely compromised by any process, it would work.

I find your objections particularly interesting because I expected you to have problems with the first of my points, the need for an independent commission to make decisions as to who qualifies, etc. That strikes me as the chief point of vulnerability in the proposals, the one to which the most careful thought would need to be devoted.
