Comstor and Cistera Networks Expand Distribution Agreement to the Americas Monday March 13, 9:19 am ET Announcement Made at Cisco Global Partners' Summit in San Diego
CHANTILLY, Va. & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2006--Comstor, a division of Westcon Group, Inc., a multi-national distributor of networking technology products, and Cistera Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: CNWT - News), a market leader in delivering advanced IP applications engines and platforms to support Enterprise VoIP Telephony, today jointly announced that their exclusive distribution agreement for the European market has been extended to include North, Central and South America. The announcement was made by Paul Cunningham, VP Global Technology Solutions, Westcon Group, and Derek Downs, President, Cistera Networks, at the Cisco Global Partners' Summit in San Diego, CA. ADVERTISEMENT Under the terms of the agreement, Comstor will now distribute and support all Cistera products in the Americas via its OneVoice Program, which is rolling out this month. OneVoice has facilitated Value Added Resellers' (VARs) sales wins in the European market with an extensive array of marketing tools including SalesVision, MarketVision and MailVision specifically targeted to the Small and Medium-Sized VoIP Markets. The user-friendly OneVoice Program is designed to drive IP Telephony (IPT) sales by providing extensive support to the VARs, from initial contact through installation and scale-up.
"Cistera is a perfect addition to our Cisco IP communications solutions portfolio in the Americas," commented Paul Cunningham. "We plan to build on the momentum we have already established with the Cistera relationship in Europe, where they have already been a key participant in our OneVoice program. Cistera's ConvergenceServer(TM) (CCS) represents a very powerful, flexible IP solution that can fit into many different business environments utilizing Cisco CallManager and CallManager Express, and we want to bring this combined product solution directly to our customer base."
Prior to the European partnership announcement, Comstor conducted extensive evaluations and identified the CCS and its robust suite of applications as strategic best-of-class solutions for users of Cisco CallManager and CallManager Express. Cistera's unique applications platform adds critical functionality and features such as broadcasting, messaging, recording and content streaming within a Cisco Communications environment. Cistera ConvergenceServers can be configured to support small, medium and enterprise installations, and by linking multiple applications to CallManager and CallManager Express, they provide seamless integration of an IPT solution.
To support the Comstor partnership launch, Cistera created the Cistera ConvergenceExpress(TM) Bundle (CCX), a complete applications solution for Small and Medium Business (SMB) users of Cisco's Call Manager Express. The SMB market is the fastest growing segment of the IP Telephony market. The CCX provides the IPT infrastructure and feature functionality of a large enterprise solution to the SMB market at an affordable price point. It includes the Cistera ConvergenceServer 1000, QuickRecord Express(TM), CallCenterRecord Express(TM), RapidBroadcast Express(TM), Centramail Express(TM) and QuickConference Express(TM).
"I am very pleased that Comstor is ready to extend this partnership so soon after the September 2005 launch in Europe," stated Derek Downs. "The Cistera Premier Solutions Partner designation was created for relationships such as this, and we view today's announcement as confirmation of that program as well as an important endorsement of the scalability, reliability and security of the Cistera product line by one of the world's foremost IPT solutions providers."
"In December, Synergy Research Group noted that IP telephony has now truly entered the mainstream, and identified Cisco as the number one voice communications vendor worldwide. I expect that applications will play a key role in driving future IPT adoption, as enterprises begin to explore ways to more fully integrate IP telephony into existing business systems," commented A. Katrina Roche, Cistera's CEO. "We have committed substantial resources to expanding our relationship with Westcon Group as we believe that leveraging their existing channel infrastructure and their relationships with VARs is the most effective way for us to address the enormous market opportunity for Enterprise VoIP applications."
