ALYD has said that it may break even in the third quarter and be profitable enough in the fourth to approach break even for the year. Assuming a b/e 3rd qtr., that would imply approx. 39 cents eps for Q4. While it is reasonable to assume earnings would ramp from there in '98, just using that figure as a run-rate we have '98 eps near $1.60. This means ALYD is selling at less than 15X 1998 eps. Much will change (I believe for the positive) between now and '98, but this is as good a starting point as any.
