It could in part be related to FAB36. It could also be that Intel is bringing more 65-nm capacity online and/or are improving 65-nm yields.

Sorry, I disagree (strongly) with price cuts based on capacity and/or 65nm yields. Intel is not capacity limited, and they already have an inventory overhang. Intel has never set prices based on maximising their utilization. Intel's prices are based on maximizing revenues - or maybe minimizing market share loss.
