Too many family members are intimidated by the d*heads out there who happen to have impressive initials behind their names.

I once worked with an ER physician who demanded absolute silence from everyone around him--including the patient--while he was "working his miracles. Just another d*head. Need I say this backfired on him more than once or twice?

Bypass surgery and angioplasty are cash cows. We do not call the cath lab the "cash" lab for nothing. <g>

That said, I do not want to discourage anyone from angioplasty and/or arterial stent placement and/or bypass surgery, as they can be real life-savers and greatly improve ones quality of life. - Holly
