Bob, Will Access MV be in demand? What's the cost look like? I read a few earlier comments about seemingly prohibitive costs. Yet with the number of bypasses being done these days, and with claims of faster patient recoveries and lower surgical risks, it would seem that relatively high costs could be justified. I referred back to the news release on 9/4, which announced missing 3Q revenues -- significantly below analyst's estimates -- due to "increased competition, a more lengthy evaluation period for the products in the second-tier bypass centers at this stage of market development, a shift to more multiple vessel off-pump bypasses and seasonal variation." No one on this thread commented on the 9/4 announcement, and I am interested in hearing what any of you have to say about this. What competition -- HPRT? Anyone else in beating heart business? Does Access MV still have to go thru more evaluation (as mentioned in the above quotation a la second tier bypass centers -- what are they anyway?), or is it ready for broad markets? Seems as though the Access MV addresses the shift to more multiple vessel procedures -- is this right? And, what do they mean by seasonal variations? Aren't bypasses insulated from seasonal variations? Sorry for all of the questions, but I'm thirsty for information -- this seems like such a winning idea and on the verge of a breakthrough -- business-wise, not just technologically.
