I recently read a jury sheet regarding a product liability case filed against the retailer of some kind of oil lamp that was manufactured in China. Of course, the manufacturer wasn't before the court, so the retailer took the hit.

Evidently this lamp required some assembly, which included getting the wick into the bulb through some type of covering.

The plaintiff cut her hand or wrist in the process of doing so.

The claim was that the manual failed to properly instruct
as it was unclear how or where the user was to insert the
wick and whether the obstruction in place in the bulb was
to be removed.

The defense was that the wrong instruction manual had been provided and that the user should have realized it was the wrong manual.

LOL.

The jury didn't agree.
