I go around about this from time to time. I still think it will be difficult to repeat the 70s without monopoly labor power and in an environment with such an open trade policy.

I think we're out of the disinflation period, but I'm not so sure we're in a period where we'll see a rising rate of inflation even though prices did have to adjust higher to accommodate higher energy prices. If the Fed doesn't accommodate these higher prices with permanent injections they will be deflationary.
