Then you would have to wonder what it is about modern life that leads 20-30% of US society to need a savior in the form of a rather pedestrian, ordinary, second rate governor who stumbled into the White House?

The WSJ had a Java applet graph showing Bush's approval ratings since he took office. Apart from 9/11 and invading Iraq, Bush has gone straight down. The man cannot muster a lasting, enthusiastic majority.

The facts are there in black and white. But I suspect that many years from now, some will still no acknowledge what we see now.
