Since shortly after 911 I have thought that they (the White House/Pentagon/CIA... whoever) let it happen (didn't try to stop the 911 terrorists) so that they could have their way with US policy. About that time a friend of mine mentioned that there were no photos of anything that looked like an airplane at the Pentagon, but I never pursued that even much darker possibility. This documentary makes it seem a much more plausible reality.
