Ramming trees requires no talent. Ramming trees hard enough to kill one's self generally requires speed that beginning skiers seldom achieve.

It would take a few days of practice for me to build up that kind of speed.

Most people who run into trees do it while weaving through the woods. I am not talented enough to ski the woods that fast. Junior Kennedy was playing football on the main slopes when he did it. Wasn't Sonny skiing in the shadows on the edge of the slope when he met his untimely tree?
