Brookelise,

I fear I have to explain German humor (or my own at least). I simply deduce to be entiteled to call you "newbie" as you are calling yourself like that allways. Richard did not keep you from doing so, even I urged him to.
I am a lover of top down analysis, as it promises to contain my being prone to chaos. As Bollinger states on the quoted site, one half of investing succes is due to "Market Analysis", a subject I feel to be preaching allways as lonely as St. John in the desert amongst TA'ers.
Another 30% seems to be due to picking the sector with the strongest momentum. For the remaining 20% we got excellent sreening and timing tools herearound.
I once bought the MSCI Industry Group indices for some $ 350, which you can obtain calculated for the currency you are investing with ($, DM, Yen etc). They are a valuable tool for picking the right industry group. The same is true for the MSCI country indices, which allow comparisons between countries directely, without multiply¡ng time series with exchange rates yourself.
It seems that Q+ V2 offers the major part of this kind of analysis without any extra costs. These Bollinger group analysis materials are to bulky too enjoy at once. I shall try to eat through this heap of pie once and then most likely decide not to subscribe.
