LOL. The exorbitant level of taxation is the fault of taxpayers that want too much from their municipality or county. The level of taxation may not be fair, but the concept of property taxes (at least on land, not necessarily on buildings) is considered fair in the sense that it doesn't penalize effort and economic activity.
