PBS National Datacast has been a WAVO business partner since 1996.
Run "PBS National Datacast" through Infoseek, you'll find about 10 articles about WAVO's Fall 1996 deal with PBS National Datacast.
Look at WAVO's own web site at wavephore.com and scroll down to see the list of their distribution partners: "Our distribution partners include PBS National Datacast, Inc., The Canadian Broadcasting Company, Microspace Communications Corporation, PanAmSat Corporation, Novanet Communications Limited, GE Capital Spacenet Services Europe, Unisource Satellite Services, British Telecom and Comsat International." (emphasis added)
Also, PBS is close enough with WAVO to allow it to display PBS' logo on its "partners" page at wavephore.com along with those of Intel, Compaq, Verity and CBC/SRC. All good company, in my view.
Further, (this is old news, but perhaps worth remembering in this context) in July, WAVO announced a deal with network carriers of FM signals to utilize that bandwidth for data delivery. WAVO said that the capacity was already "pre-sold" so that gaining the bandwidth had been a high priority. "SALT LAKE CITY, July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- WavePhore Networks, a division of WavePhore, Inc. (Nasdaq:WAVO) announced today that it has brought its newest data broadcast network on line, effectively doubling the amount of communications bandwidth available to its information company customers. The new network uses a combination of FM radio subcarriers and satellite transmission to simultaneously transmit news and information across the United States for WavePhore's information company customers." - source: biz.yahoo.com
