A rule based system which added a small percentage to the supply each year wouldn't limit money supply growth to that percentage or even guarantee that money supply growth would be positive. You know this, I know this, Mish knows this ...so I assume the Fed knows it as well.

What I want is to get the Fed out of the business of using the money supply and interest rates to provide Keynesian stimulus to the economy.
