Keep this in mind every time you see a poll that samples considerably more libs than conservatives. Also note that internal polls for politicians are far more accurate as politicians need to have a reality based assessment of potential voters if they wish to win elections.

    A nationwide survey by pollsters Penn, Schoen, and 
    Berland -- who represent Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton, 
    among other clients -- found that self-described liberals 
    make up only 16 percent of the population, compared with 
    36 percent who call themselves conservatives and 47 percent
    who say they are moderates.
