thats interesting, you can sell/buy here in the UK.

In fact, its a common transaction called 'bed and breakfasting' to sell just before the close, buy just after the open. Some brokers even offer a special price to do this, cheaper than separate buy & sells.

Lets you use up your allowances, or realise losses, even if you dont want to get out of the stock.
