Bushies suckered democrats into the Monica scandal. In retrospect, it was nothing but a smear campaign posing as a legitimate investigation. Starr turned out to be an unethical partisan zealot, Clinton should never have been asked about his sex life and Lieberman types who moaned about how "immoral" it was should have shut up. What that scandal did was open up the door for the corrupt forces of the far right to move close enough to be able to steal the election in 2000. That really hurt our country and democracy. Who was behind the Clinton smear campaign? Mellon Scaife, Koch Oil, Karl Rove, Tom Delay, Anne Coulter and every dirty trickster and rightwing opportunist in the book. Besides the actual Monica BJ, every single charge they hurled at CLinton turned out to be BS.
