Before I start reading...I do think that
shiftworkers (although much worse off than
the general population) actually have a clear
advantage over folks diagnosed with SAD:
Coming back to days is a rude awakening,
but you eventually snap back.

What I suppose is true for my father of course
is the persistent seasonal chronic nature to the
condition. One long night shift here in Seattle
December and January...

Boy, you wouldn't want to put a SAD guy on
graveyards... We were kidding the other day
about how SAD DAD HAD A BAD day...see, I am
laughing about it, through my teeth.

(Not as funny when I go verbally postal on my neighbor
when her dogs bark...)

edit...note to self, to what degree does
the moodiness and insomnia relate to the
disruption of circadian rhythm versus the
sunlight depravation. Survey the folks in
the office--are mids harder in winter or summer?
