Yeah, that conclusion can be drawn by most people with an open mind. More insiduous is the in-effect paralysis of any political opposition to the party in power. I don't see a better explanation for the failure of the Democratic party than too many of the main players being under the sway of AIPAC. What Murta said was obvious, yet nobody supported him. It's obvious to many people that we should be dealing with our domestic problems instead of blowing billions in a f'ing desert. So whose interests are being served? And don't even tell me it's for the oil. By now, we could have become way less dependent in oil for energy and paid for the difference like the rest of the world.
