Tangential or not... in a trial situation, if you expose much more grievous transgressions, it can minimize your crime, and your punishment. Who knows? And Fitzgerald still has his investigation open, right? Rove, Cheney, whoever still isn't clear. Who knows what kind of (plea?) games are being played out. The only thing I know for sure is that Libby doesn't want to go to jail.
