>>>Clintonites proved Democrats know how to manage government.<<<
You know, there's something interesting to consider here and it might well be the nitty-gritty of it all. For sure, getting elected may well be how you play the 'church vote' against the 'tavern vote.'
But how one governs, once elected, requires something quite different.
Democrats traditionally have fared well amongst the voters who come from academic backgrounds. Yes, the scholarly vote tends to support liberal notions rather than conservative ones. Consequently, Democrats when holding the presidency have a better, less frictionated, well of resources from which to draw upon in order to make government sensible and effective for a wider range of citizens.
Think. The scholarly voter tends not to get bogged down with three-button issues Republicans traditionally use to shape their campaigns--issues like abortion, anti-gayness, gun rights, etc., this against a strategic backdrop of hidden racism (i.e., the Southern Strategy). Thus, when a Democrat gains the presidency there becomes more openness, greater understanding and less fear to make what it takes to effectuate good government.
If there's anything, besides impeachment, that a voter should take into the voting booth as thoughts for the next election it is what's expressed above. |
