Dabum,

I once saw a statement that it usually takes a minimum of three days for good news to be priced into a stock. In my limited experience the three day rule does seem to have some validity. In a couple of cases I’ve sold the day after good news was announced, only to see stock price move higher. Back then I wasn’t using any form of TA, so had no price targets or any other tools to guide my sell decision.

I have observed that these sharp moves usually culminate in blow off tops or lengthy consolidations, such as happened with CHNR back in January.

I know you essentially disregard news, but I’m curious how you would have handled incremental selling, stop placement, and final exit had you held CHNR during the January – February spike.

I’m also curious how you determined that only the first two wide range bars represented professional buying, and momentum buying took over thereafter. I added CMF to a CHNR chart, and couldn’t tell from it.

I’m asking all this not only to further advance my understanding of TA, but because there was news out on MT and PWEI Friday. I’m not sure how (or if) this should affect the exit strategies.
