Yes, all of that is true. The MSM & DNC are knowingly creating MISperceptions as reality on matters of substance. And it is wrong. DEAD WRONG.
Several years ago I coined a phrase - 'Perception is reality... regardless of the facts'. I used it when dealing with folks who continued to cling to their misperceptions even after having them debunked with overwhelming credible evidence. Almost without exception these people demonized me, hurled insults, invective & vicious personal attacks rather than engage in civil reality based debate.
They had been exposed to real facts & credible evidence that clearly was at odds with their perception of reality. They could independently verify on their own what they had been exposed to was true. Instead, they chose to vilify me, totally disregard every bit of the contrary evidence & fervently cling to their original perception as reality.
As far as I was concerned there was no excuse for this type of behavior. It's one thing for a perception (right to wrong) to be someone's reality. It's quite another for someone to reject any & all evidence that destroys that perception (and attack the messenger). Boorish behavior aside however, these people could only misinform a limited number of others. My main concern with them was to try to disabuse them of their misperceptions.
It's now more than obvious that the MSM & DNC are acting essentially the same way on a multitude of issues with three huge exceptions - resources, audience & intent. Despite overwhelming facts & credible evidence that utterly destroys many of their most fervently held "perceptions", they choose to engage in the politics of personal destruction against those who challenge them (conservative politicians, alternate media, blogs, etc.). They pretend to remain ignorant of those contrary facts & continue to report each of these now obvious "misperceptions" as if they were still reality.
Unlike Joe Six Pack, the MSM & DNC have large staffs who's responsibility is to gather all relevant facts relating to these issues & continue gathering them as time & events unfold. The MSM is supposed to analyze all relevant info & objectively inform Joe Six Pack. Politicians are expected to take this info, form responsible positions relevant to those issues, then explain it all to their constituents.
I'm sure you noticed the endless hysterical headlines that all point to something horrific for the Bush Admin (funny how nothing is EVER good for them & Dems never do anything bad). The MSM uncritically quotes leading DNC politicians that add to the hysteria. It's amazing how quickly the alternate media, the internet & blogs can uncover a mountain of facts & credible evidence that thoroughly discredits those stories. Now if the alternate media with its much more limited resources can almost immediately find this stuff, the MSM & DNC almost certainly knew about most, if not all of those same facts before the hysterical headlines, right?
Yet this same thing happens again & again & again. Always the same thing - Hysterical headlines with DNC hysterics - alternate media debunks it completely - MSM continues to pound the Bush Admin with the original, now discredited story until they have successfully created the all important false perception of reality.
Indeed, the evidence is overwhelming. More often than not, the MSM & DNC are actively & intentionally misinforming the public from the minute the story breaks. They know full well perception is reality. That's why they work feverishly to create those critical first impressions. They are responsible for many of the gross misperceptions that continue to exist today on numerous matters of substance.
There is absolutely no excuse for this. NONE! And because these people have the ability to misinform untold millions of Joe Six Packs, these people need to be exposed for what they have done. IMO, none of them deserve to be in their current positions. |
