LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch)Chief Executive Larry Ellison said he remains "confident" the company's key database segment will be able to post double-digit growth "for several years to come." Speaking during a conference call to discuss the company's results, Ellison said Oracle's database segment in the just-reported fiscal third quarter would have posted 9% growth, if not for unfavorable foreign exchange rates. For the current fiscal fourth quarter, Chief Financial Officer Safra Catz said the company continues to expect a profit before one-time items of 26 cents to 28 cents as revenue rises 10% to 14%. The current average of analysts' estimates calls for a profit of 27 cents a share on revenue of $4.53 billion -- equating to 12% growth. On a net basis, Catz still sees net income at 21 cents to 23 cents a share as revenue rises 13% to 17%.
