To be fair, that is more true of the small towns than the large cities, but yes. The South gets painted as a bunch of redneck racists, which it isn't for the most part. Yeah, we have them, but they really aren't the face of the South.

For the record, I wasn't painting the south as redneck racists. The question I posed to Harris was just as appropriate in the North, East or West IMO.......and its not really about racism. What I asked is how can someone know what's best for someone when they have never walked in that person's shoes. For an example, how can John Kerry know whats best for a Latino woman who has 6 children and her husband makes $20K per year? My point is that we have some very rich people representing a lot of people who are poor or middle class. I am not sure that that's the best possible way to run a democracy.
