Orca, it doesn't matter if George Tenet says it isn't confirmed, when the claim made here is that someone knows it didn't happen. No one knows it didn't happen, save the parties involved in the event if in fact it didn't. It is not me who holds tight to a sliver of fantasy, it is me who refutes the fantasy that anyone knows it didn't happen. That's all. It simply isn't even needed to make my case. Still, that it may have happened remains true for all we've learned, and this reported incident is but one of many curious connections between Iraq extremist terrorists. There can be no doubt that Iraq shared objectives with Palestinian extremists, Al Qaeda, and Islamic extremist fundamentalists one and all.

There is a case to be made, which you and A.S. can throw up, against every little piece of evidence reported that Saddam sided with extremist terrorist elements. You could even make the case that Saddam didn't murder anyone unjustly during his reign (not that I recall you have..but no matter). That's Saddam's current case to make.

If you think you can reconcile the belief that Saddam attacked mainly fundamentalist extremists (like Osama), with the fact that he repeatedly instead sided with fundamentalist extremists without question, you've a lot of faith in your dream.
