Then when we think about the fact that Saddam and his party is Sunni, well then an alliance with Al Qaeda seems all the more likely.

What these documents show is a couple of lose references. The only media to pick this up is the lunatic right fringe. Stephen Hayes of weekly standard fame has written a book that is largely a collection of inconclusive nothings.

Look, if this was true the administration, in free fall and beleguered by an avalanche of bad news, would seize on the opportunity to scream it from the roof tops. Just yesterday bush was denying ever saying the there was a connection between saddam and alqueda, of course the press quickly showed clips in which he talks iraq, saddam and alqueda in the very same sentences repeatedly over and over again, which helped sell the war and convinced a large majority of Americans that there was a connection...but to believe this now?
