I read Battle Cry when it was first out, then saw the movie, which was instrumental (to a small degree) in my enlisting right at the end of Korea. I have a vid copy of the movie somewhere around here and looked at it with my brother's family a couple years ago. Totally sophomoric from today's view.

In the mid 50's Jack Webb made a movie called "The DI" which I saw at a theatre in Oceanside CA. We hooted the roof off the place, as I recall. LOL.
