"I'm not talking about God given laws implemented by government, I'm talking about God given rights which the government must protect... a big difference..."

Hey, I'm ALL FOR the rights of man.

ALL FOR unalienable human rights.

But I'm not at all sure that I understand the *effective difference* you are trying to outline in your statement above....

If a RIGHT came 'from God', or a LAW came 'from God'... how do you *know* and, what is the *difference* between the two? Hopefully, any RIGHTS 'granted by God' would not be contradicted by any LAWS 'issued by God'.

--------------------------
(The point I was trying to make in my previous post, though, was that there are LOTS of countries who claim their laws and citizen's rights come from 'God' --- for example, every country that has Sharia law as the basis of their nation's laws... this is claimed to be law handed down from 'God' to the Prophet --- and there have been throughout the history of the world... the ancient laws of Israel, the Holy Roman Empire, etc. Probably more then the other way around.... The Anglo-Saxon history of COMMON LAW is one of the clear *exceptions* to that trend in history, though....)
