I feel that if I value something enough to sacrifice someone else's child for it, I would have to also be willing to sacrifice my own- so since I would want soliders to fight for our constitutional freedoms it follows that I should be willing to also sacrifice myself, my children, and my husband- and I am. Of course I don't think our constutional freedoms have anything to do with Iraq, so I wouldn't send my children or anyone else's children there- but when our freedoms really are endangered, I think they are worth fighting for, and dying for, and that freedom entails some risks. Clearly there are folks who would rather live in a police state than see their children ever harmed by a terrorist- and that's a decision one can make, but it is not what I would choose.
