"What does "results based" mean?" It's simple. The number of literate, educated people that leave primary and secondary schools should increase every year, as teachers improve their methods. We seem to be going in the opposite direction. I blame parent far more than teachers, and a society that forces both parents to work more than parents themselves. My mom was a jr high teacher. She became a teacher later in life, after I had left home. I warned her that school wasn't what she remembered from HER school days. She did it for ten years, mostly so she could draw the minimum retirement, and then bailed. She hated it. She was ordered to "socially promote" students just to get them out of the jr high she taught at!
