So much in your post!
I agree our incarceration rates are a huge problem- they are a problem if we care about freedom, and they are also a problem in terms of cost. I advocate the decriminalization of drugs to counter the problems of incarceration - since much of the huge growth in our prison population is due to non-violent drug related crime.

I agree we should have concentrated on Al Qaeda, and the systemic problems in the FBI and Homeland security need to be fixed.
