I remember when I was a kid my buddy and I swiped some old K-Rations and ate them while playing soldier. They had little packs of four cigarettes, which we ate. (NOT!)

Remember Phil Silvers in "You'll Never Get Rich?" The sponsors of that show were tobacco companies and made much of their donations of cigarettes to VA hospitals and soldiers.
