DJ Freddie Mac Fincl Chief Martin Baumann Resigns >FRE

Dow Jones Newswires

Martin Baumann, chief financial officer of Freddie Mac (FRE) since 2003, is resigning from the mortgage finance giant, the company said Wednesday.

Baumann's resignation won't affect the company's plans to state its fourth-quarter and full-year results for 2005 in May, Freddie said.

Freddie Mac President and Chief Operating Officer Eugene McQuade will take over as interim CFO while the company looks for a replacement for Baumann.

Shares of the McLean, Va.-based lender closed Tuesday at $64.45, down 40 cents.
