About 50 Liberals, including some of the potential leadership candidates, caucus members, volunteers and organizers, will hear from Joe Trippi, the former Vermont governor's campaign manager, at an event in Toronto next week.
Mr. Trippi tapped into the U.S. grassroots through the Internet by raising money in increments averaging less than $100 that resulted in millions of dollars for Mr. Dean, who ran unsuccessfully against John Kerry for the 2004 Democratic Party nomination.
Think about this for a moment. Then think about the Liberals promising to end the deportation of the Portuguese Workers, or talking about new family reunification programs. Or the fabled Daycare for everyone program. They can read the political lists and pick up new donors. Think about poor Fresc, do you think on seeing his emails they would hesitate to ask him for his help? All they need to do is ask for $25.00 or $50.00.... think about it, it is online and easy and done in a second, and they can tap the donors again in a month or so, and they don't have to pay telemarketers fees. Each Candidate can put up a website and collect cash, lots of it on credit cards or any other way they can think of. And they still have all the traditional ways to scam money from the sheeple. |
